Mrs. Lane - English Language Arts - Thursday Update

I was out sick on Wednesday, so this is an update to Tuesday's blog. Since I had a substitute, I had to change a few of my plans.
Sixth Grade - No, you will not have a test on Thursday; I always review a day before a unit test. That will take place in class today, and the test will be tomorrow (Friday). Sorry for the confusion! In addition, Wednesday's plans were: finish odes in class, read pages 291-299 and do either the Reading Check on page 296 OR #3 Varmint Viewpoint on page 297 OR #2 Just Imagine on page 297. This assignment will be due on Thursday.
Seventh Grade - Students read "A Day's Wait" in class and did questions 6, 8, 9, and 10 on Wednesday. They also read "The Last Dinosaur." We will review in class on Thursday for the unit test, which will be on Friday. Students also took notes on Unit 1 vocabulary. Those books stay in my room, so students should check them out from me.
Eighth Grade - Students took notes on Unit 1 in vocabulary books. Those books stay in my room, so students should check them out from me. Wednesday's assignment was to do the Critical Thinking questions on pages 83 and 85. We will discuss the last three poems in this unit on Thursday and review for a unit test, which will be on Friday.
The only homework that any of my classes will have over the weekend will be to read for book reports. I have changed the date of my progress reports; they will be sent home next Tuesday, September 16th.
