Sorry that it's been a couple of days since my last post. I was at a workshop on Monday, and my students and I played "catch-up" yesterday.
Sixth Grade - On Tuesday, we went over the worksheet on pronouns from Monday. Today, we will go over the short story worksheet from Monday. Students are to finish "The All-American Slurp" from their textbooks for class tomorrow, and book reports are due this Friday.
Seventh Grade - I took up students' book reports yesterday (after postponing them one day), and we discussed Greek and Roman mythology. We went to the library to do some research other mythology, and we did a worksheet on "Origin of the Seasons" in class today.
Eighth Grade - Vocabulary from yesterday is due today. Students also had re-writes on a worksheet from Monday, and we started reading Call of the Wild in class.

Thank you, Austin Baty
Hi Austin,
I hope you enjoyed the day off. The book report project is on my website link. Click on "Mrs. Lane's website" in the margin of the middle school blog. Be sure that you do the one with the creative project and written project, not the new one for the eighth grade nonfiction books. Since you had detention and could not come to learning lab on Thursday, you may write a paragraph for each of the following topics on The Giver: theme, setting, protagonist, minor characters, a comparison to our world. Turn these in by Tuesday to bring up your grade and check in with me after school on Monday if you want to take the AR test.
Have a nice weekend.
