Sixth Grade - There was no homework on Monday because we did a worksheet in class on "Ode to Mi Gato." We also started plans to write our own odes, which will be due on Wednesday. On Tuesday, will do a worksheet on "The Flood" and discuss it in class. On Wednesday, we will read the last selection in this unit, "All I Really Needed to Know I Learned in Kindergarten," and we will review for the first test, which will be on Thursday.
Seventh Grade - On Monday, we discussed "The Runaway" and "Song of the Trees" in class. We also began reading "Three Skeleton Key" in class. Students were to finish it for today (Tuesday). Today's assignment will be to do questions 1-8 on page 77; we will work on it in class, but if students do not finish, they may finish it for homework. The next reading is "The Last Dinosaur," which will be due on Thursday. We will have a test on the first unit on Friday.
Eighth Grade - On Monday, students went to the library to type final drafts of memoirs, and the reading assignment was "Christmas Day in the Morning." We will have a brief quiz on the reading and discuss the story in class on Tuesday. We will also begin working together on a worksheet on three short selections, "The Old Grandfather and His Little Grandson," "Grandma," and "Old Man." Students should read "Shooting Stars" and "Something From the Sixties" for Thursday.
Progress reports will go home to be signed on Friday, September 12th. Everyone will receive a progress report, but students with a grade of 77 or lower will have one mailed home as well.

I know that you will get this late, but we will not have a test until Friday. For future reference, I will not give you a unit test until we have an opportunity to review the day before. Thanks for your sense of responsibility!
