Friday Social Studies Update
We had a wonderful day in the classroom. I hope everyone has a great weekend.
8th Grade- concluded a film and did some reading for the Civil War. I do not believe we will have our test until we return from Thanksgiving. 7th Grade did a short reading, which will be included on Tuesday's test. After completing the reading, we worked on a 4 page worksheet about Chapter 12. Some students completed theirs and others did not. For those who didn't, please have them ready to turn in on Monday. 6th Grade was given the last part of the notes for Tuesday's upcoming test in outline form. As we read through the section on Brazil, we completed the outline notes by working as a team and identifying the most important part of the reading. the outline will be used as part of the notes for the test.

Thursday Social Studies Update
I apologize for not updating the blog this week. I will do my best to see that this doesn't happen again. 7th Grade has been excellent this week. We have been reading and discussing the Muslim religion. Today we complete all of the questions found on page 241 of the text. Most students finished, and those who did not should complete the questions for homework. 6th Grade has been discussing the colonial history of South America, independence movements and the post-independence movements this week. We finished that today in class and completed the questions found on page 150 (#1-6). After these questions were completed and turned in, we read through the next section and made a chart as we proceeded. 8th Grade has been studying the Civil war this week through notes, films and readings from the text. Today we finished a partnering activity where the students were to pretend to be a Civil War family describing the events of the war and life at home.
